Emergent Bilingual Speakers Pathway
Overview
As part of the Supporting Language Use in Academic Contexts Module, the Emergent Bilingual Speakers Pathway is one of three pathways which follow the interactive Academic Language: Introduction. This interactive course affirms and amplifies the rich cultural and linguistic resources of emergent bilingual students. We introduce the population of Emergent Bilingual students and explore ways to facilitate their academic language development. We provide culturally responsive, relevant and sustaining recommendations for educator practice, including examples of translingual inquiry. We share assessment considerations and provide reflection opportunities that encourage users to relate their learning to their future or current practice.
