Standing Together: Proudly Different, Never Alone (Toolkit for Grades 6-12)
Overview
The grades 6–12 toolkit includes videos and downloadable resources designed for parents and educators of middle and high school students. While teen-friendly materials are included, this toolkit is built for you — the adults who guide, teach, and support adolescents. Downloadable resources are tailored separately for educators, parents, and teens themselves, so you can use what you need and share what's appropriate.
Bullying looks different in middle and high school. It can be social, digital, verbal, or physical; and for teens with neurodivergence, or those perceived as neurodivergent, differences in communication, social processing, movement, or learning can make them especially vulnerable. The stakes are higher in adolescence, as bullying can impact mental health, academic success, and identity formation.
For educators: These videos and resources will help you recognize bullying in hallways, classrooms, and online; understand how adolescent brain development influences behavior; and implement practical, research-based strategies to support students with neurodivergence, whether they are being bullied, witnessing it, or struggling with their own behavior. You'll walk away with ready-to-use tools for classroom management, restorative practices, and building a school culture where all teens feel they belong.
For parents: You'll learn how to spot warning signs, have conversations that actually reach your teen, and partner with schools to advocate for your child.
We encourage educators to watch these videos, download the guides, and share them with colleagues, students, and families. Together, we can create secondary schools and communities where every adolescent feels safe, seen, and connected.
