Collaboration for Inclusive Mathematics
Overview
This session explores how inclusive mathematics teaching is strengthened through collaboration among educators, families, instructional assistants, and school leaders. Through classroom examples, educator interviews, and reflective discussion, participants will examine how coteaching, shared observation, family engagement, and administrator support can help create learning environments where all students are positioned as capable mathematical thinkers. Grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), the module highlights the importance of collective responsibility, relationship-building, and flexible instructional design in supporting students with disabilities within meaningful mathematics experiences. Participants will reflect on how collaborative structures can support student access, agency, belonging, and strategic sensemaking while also considering practical next steps for implementing inclusive mathematics practices within their own school communities.
