Supporting Innovative Practices Collection
Overview
This collection of videos and printable tools are designed to help educators build more inclusive, equitable, and intentionally designed learning environments for all students, especially those with disabilities. Developed by the Supporting Innovative Practices (SIP), a grant-funded project by the California Department of Education, in partnership with the El Dorado and Riverside County Offices of Education. These resources support schools in transforming exclusionary practices through systemic change and advocacy.
SIP’s mission is to uphold human dignity by challenging exclusionary practices through systemic change and advocacy, ensuring all students, particularly those with disabilities, have the access, support, and opportunities needed to achieve fair outcomes and a true sense of belonging.

Inclusion Videos
This video collection showcases diverse voices and strategies driving inclusive education and disrupting ableism. Educators, advocates, families, and students share lived experiences, practical tools, and systemic approaches that strengthen belonging for learners with disabilities. Topics range from dismantling segregation and fostering peer supports, to harnessing assistive technology and AAC for communication and access. Universal Pre-Kindergarten Videos
This collection of videos highlights how inclusive, play-based learning builds language, literacy, math, and science skills in young children. Presenters share inclusive strategies, adaptations for dual language learners and children with disabilities, and practical examples that make learning joyful and accessible for all. Viewers will also be introduced to the Preschool/Transitional Kindergarten Learning Foundations (PTKLF) and how they can guide everyday practice, interventions, and goal setting in early care and education.
