Jennifer Hunt has dedicated more than 30 years to public education, beginning her career in 1992 as a Substitute Paraeducator in an infant program. Since then, she has served in a wide range of roles, including Education Specialist, Program Specialist, and Assistant Director of Special Education in a high school district. Today, she has come full circle, returning to serve the youngest learners as Coordinator of Special Education and Early Childhood in the Cajon Valley Union School District. A strong advocate for equitable access to high-quality instruction, Jennifer has led initiatives to expand inclusive practices, most recently focusing on building Inclusive Early Childhood classrooms in Cajon Valley. She is also the founder of the Jane Johnson Foundation, a nonprofit that has provided critical resources to improve access and opportunities for students with significant cognitive, medical, and orthopedic needs across San Diego County. Jennifer holds a Master’s degree in Special Education, a Moderate-Severe Education Specialist Credential, and an Administrative Services Credential. Her leadership and advocacy have been recognized with numerous honors, including SDUSD Elementary Teacher of the Year, the ARC Civic Award, and multiple SANDCASE awards for outstanding service in special education.
