Wendy G. Gomez is a dedicated and visionary leader with over five years of experience in early childhood education, family engagement, and community advocacy. Her journey with SAELI began as a parent leader, where she joined to support her son’s early learning and quickly became a driving force in shaping the initiative’s direction. Today, she serves as Director, guiding SAELI’s work to co-create programs with families that center school readiness, developmental health, and caregiver leadership.
Born and raised in Santa Ana, Wendy is deeply rooted in the community she now serves. She is proudly following in her mother’s legacy—giving back and working for the very neighborhoods that helped raise her. With a B.A. in American Studies from Cal State Fullerton and certifications in early childhood mental health, family leadership, and community health, Wendy brings both lived experience and professional expertise to her leadership.
She is known for building trusting relationships with families, educators, and partners across the city. Wendy continues to lead with purpose, cultural humility, and unwavering commitment—ensuring SAELI remains grounded in the voices, strengths, and aspirations of the community.
