Dr. Hilary Seitz is a Director of Educator & Leadership Programs in the California State University Chancellor’s Office. She supports statewide efforts related to early learning and the new PK-3 Early Childhood Education Specialist Instruction Credential.  In addition, she is also the point of contact with California Community Colleges and the CSU undergraduate program liaison, working with Child Development/Early Childhood Education programs, Liberal Studies programs, Integrated Teacher Education Programs, and Dual Enrollment opportunities.  

Dr. Seitz is a Professor Emerita of Early Childhood Education at the University of Alaska, where she worked for over 20 years. She held multiple faculty and administrative appointments, including Associate Dean. She worked closely with community colleges, the Alaska Department of Education, School Districts, and Early Childhood Stakeholders on a variety of projects related to culturally sustaining pedagogies, STEAM curriculum integration, and observation and assessment strategies of young children.  In addition, she served as PI on grants and helped to develop the P-3rd-grade Early Childhood Teaching License/Credential.  She has over 17 years of classroom experience working in public Pre-K and other P-6 grade levels.  

Dr. Seitz is a proud Chico State Wildcat, where she earned her BA in Child Development and her K-12 Self-Contained Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.  She earned both her MA and PhD at the University of Arizona.
