About
Dr. Spillane taught K-Transition students with extensive support needs for over 10 years in public and private school settings where she included all her students with extensive support needs in general education classrooms and/or community work settings. She received her Ph.D. in Intellectual Disabilities and Autism in 2006, from Columbia University. Her research interests include: integrating High Leverage Practices (HLPs) into Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs), inclusion of students with extensive support needs, evidence-based practices for students with autism and extensive support needs, and abuse prevention and decision-making for students with moderate to severe disabilities.
